Procurement Manager (Dietary Supplements)

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing organization operating wthin the CPG space.
Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the execution of sourcing and procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging components, and contract services. This role works closely with supply chain, quality, and operations, ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards (including cGMP).
The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially minded procurement professional with strong experience in supplier management, sourcing, negotiations, inventory planning, and cost optimization. The individual will play a key role in maintaining supply continuity, mitigating risk, improving supplier performance, and supporting operational efficiency and margin improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, ensuring all compliance with specifications, RFQs, specifications, quality, and delivery standards.
Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, and onboarding in partnership with Quality and Regulatory teams.
Manage purchase order creation, tracking, and follow-up to ensure on-time delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning/operations to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Conduct cost analysis, price benchmarking, and vendor negotiations.
Maintain supplier performance metrics (OTIF, quality, lead times, cost trends)
Ensure all purchased materials meet internal specifications and regulatory requirements (cGMP, FDA, NSF, etc.)
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and Finance
Manage supply risks, including dual sourcing and contingency planning
Maintain accurate procurement data within ERP/MRP systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain processes
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or related field
· 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in dietary supplements or nutraceuticals space.
· Strong understanding of raw material sourcing within regulated manufacturing environments.
· Working knowledge with cGMP requirements and supplier qualification processes.
· Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (cost analysis, forecasting, data tracking)
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work effectively across Quality, Operations, R&D, Finance, and Supply Chain functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience within a dietary supplement or nutraceutical contract manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) environment.
· Experience sourcing dietary supplement ingredients, raw materials, and packaging components.
· Exposure to global sourcing and international suppliers.
· Knowledge of ingredient markets, pricing trends, lead times, and supply constraints.
· Experience partnering with Quality Assurance on supplier compliance, qualification, and audits.
