Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant Position Overview:

In this role, we are looking for a data driven individual that will be responsible for ensuring items/accounts/amounts are set up correctly on various platforms and monitored for accuracy, as information flows through our ERP and other platforms.  This position will assist with inventory management, reviewing manufacturing orders for variances, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling.  Reporting to the Controller, this person will have a strong attention to detail, and the ability to recognize and identify errors.  This is a FAST growing, and exciting company.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

·         Analyzes the cost of materials, labor, overheads, and other direct or indirect costs associated with products.

·         Coordinates maintenance of cost data, and accounts for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, excess & obsolescence, and product returns through direct engagement of our production teams and produces internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these costs.

·         Interacts with departments and procedures within the cost accounting function to study and assist in recommending and implementing process improvements.

·         Provides cost accounting support to subsidiaries.

·         Ensure compliance with US GAAP, and industry regulations.  Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.

·         Prepares month end and year end closing entries and reconciliations. 

Skills and Qualifications:

·         Excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.

·         Proficient with MS Excel (Pivot tables, X-lookup, V-lookup, SUMIF)

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. We will also look at seniors in college graduating this spring majoring in accounting or finance.

·         0-3 years of experience in accounting.
